A partnership between Nature Conservation Trust and Hawkesbury-Nepean Catchment Management Authority saw the Capertee Valley Program proceed during the 08/09 financial year.
The aim of program was to protect native vegetation in the Capertee Valley with a focus on habitat for the endangered Regent Honeyeater. The program received widespread support throughout the community, including welcomed assistance from the national Regent Honeyeater Recovery Program.
A total of four properties with a conservation area totalling 130 hectares were covenanted, protecting areas of Box-Gum Woodland Endangered Ecological Community and known habitat of 14 threatened bird species including the Regent Honeyeater, Swift Parrot and Square-tailed Kite.
